About me

Hi I'm Laura, designer/maker behind Pineandbear.

I live in Brighton UK, with my husband and daughter and I'm lucky enough to spend my days being creative and making products that will hopefully make people happy.

Formerly Cubbkids, Pineandbear is a collection of unique handmade gifts for adventurous families, celebrating the nostalgia of vintage camp life and the great outdoors.  My style is playful, nostalgic with a retro American summer camp vibe.

As a family we love to camp and go adventuring in nature, making happy memories and this was the main inspiration behind my brand.

Kids running wild, sleeping under the stars, toasting marshmallows round the campfire, all the camping feels.

It all began when I found my old girl guide camp blanket, which was covered in fantastic colourful patches, little souvenirs of my childhood adventures.  This inspired me to create my own range of adventure patches for children which would celebrate their adventurous spirit.  The patches proved really popular and this lead to me developing the range to include lots more products inspired by vintage camp life, including pennant flags, camp blanket ponchos and camping accessories for all the family.  Many of the products can be personalised, creating wonderful keepsakes that will last a lifetime.

Nearly all my products are made to order and handmade by me from my Brighton home studio.  This allows me to work closely with my customers to create a truly unique gift just for them.

With a degree in fashion design, I have been stitching away one way or another since my early 20's!  Machine embroidery plays a big part in my work and I have also just bought a vintage hand cranked Singer chain stitch embroidery machine, which I'm so enjoying using and have started creating some new products using this amazing machine.

I absolutely love my job and running my own business allows me to be flexible with my time, and enables me to do more of what I love, hanging out with my daughter, cooking, running on the south downs and of course camping!  Whether you are looking for unique camping decor, embroidered patches for your backpack or a super snuggly campfire blanket, hopefully you'll find some inspiration here.

Maybe my products can play a part in your next camping adventure, that would make me very happy.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
